Siphon-Controlled Automation on a Lab-on-a-Disc Using Event-Triggered Dissolvable Film Valves

Within microfluidic technologies, the centrifugal “Lab-on-a-Disc” (LoaD) platform offers great potential for use at PoC and in low-resource settings due to its robustness ability port miniaturize ‘wet bench’ laboratory protocols. We present combination of ‘event-triggered dissolvable film valves’ with a centrifugo-pneumatic siphon structure enable control timing, through changes disc spin-speed, release incubations eight samples/reagents/wash buffers. Based on these techniques, we integrated automated chemiluminescent immunoassay detection CVD risk factor marker C-reactive protein displaying limit (LOD) 44.87 ng mL−1 quantitation (LoQ) 135.87 mL−1.
